EXPLORING HYDER ALASKA

The day was rainy and overcast but we spent the day exploring the
Hyder area.
Salmon Glacier is supposed to be a fabulous glacier about 20 miles
outside of Hyder; the campground host informed us that the glacier is
at 3,000 feet and is viewed from above.
We started the drive in the rain at sea level from the campground. As
always, the road is a narrow, winding gravel road that ascends the
mountain side and there are no guard rail - it straight down if you
miss a turn or slide. About 5 miles from the glacier viewing point,
the fog was so thick we decided to turn around. We started back down
the road and saw a glacier we decided to call Salmon Glacier.

ROLLIN' DOWN CASSIAR HIGHWAY - DAY 2

From Istuk, British Columbia in Canada to the Stewart - Hyder Arm of
the Cassiar Highway.

We are back in Alaska in a small town called Hyder.

It's hard to believe, but the scenery today was more diverse and
spectacular than yesterday.
We past through majestic mountains, ranges of glaciers and waterfalls
that spanned the mountain side to streams with spawning salmon.
