TRAVEL TO ARCTIC

Day 2 - Followed the pipeline along the Dalton Highway right to it's
origination in Deadhorse Camp in Prudhoe Bay at the Arctic Ocean.
We spotted several different types of wildlife along the highway and
in the camp. The landscape changes from the steep rocky slopes and
glacier carved valleys of the Brook Range to the North Slope, where
only tough ground hugging plants can survive the frozen ground, frigid
temperatures and icy winds.
This far north the sun never sets from May 10th to August 2nd. Good
thing! We had another flat tire that had to be changed on the narrow
gravel road at 1:00 A.M. with
18 wheel trucks whizzing by.
