Enjoyed the day by playing ball and hiking with the dogs along the
Marion Creek Trail.
In remembrance of Oslo, we found two small evergreen trees here above
the Arctic Circle which we have transplanted for the trip home.

Day 2 - Followed the pipeline along the Dalton Highway right to it's
origination in Deadhorse Camp in Prudhoe Bay at the Arctic Ocean.
We spotted several different types of wildlife along the highway and
in the camp. The landscape changes from the steep rocky slopes and
glacier carved valleys of the Brook Range to the North Slope, where
only tough ground hugging plants can survive the frozen ground, frigid
temperatures and icy winds.
This far north the sun never sets from May 10th to August 2nd. Good
thing! We had another flat tire that had to be changed on the narrow
gravel road at 1:00 A.M. with
18 wheel trucks whizzing by.

Day 1 - Left Fairbanks to travel the primitive 414 mile Haul Road,
also known as the Dalton Highway.
Before stopping for the night at the Marion Creek Campground, we past
the Arctic Circle at milepost 115 and a local artist at the Yukon
River Camp.
Forest fires continue to fill the air with smoke.
